Summary:

The slippery marble stairs leading up to a well-known chain of American restaurants were the cause of frequent accidents. Snow, wet shoes and even spilled drinks could cause dangerous accidents. The use of anti-slip nosing on the edges of the stairs in high visibility yellow colour not only eliminated the problem of slipping, but also increased the safety for visually impaired people. Such people find it difficult to walk on monochromatic and steep stairs. Marking the edges in yellow has made it easier for them to move and has increased their safety.
