Profiled TWS gratings
polyester-glass profiles made in the process of pultrusion
The stair treads have been manufactured in a moulding process. The combination of glass fibres with thermosetting resin creates an extremely strong, homogeneous grating panel. These two materials complement each other giving TWS gratings excellent compressive and tensile strength. Stair treads are designed for use in the harshest industrial and commercial environments and do not require time-consuming maintenance.
They are perfect for indoor or outdoor use. A carefully-selected type of resin ensures protection against chemical corrosion and harmful UV rays and, as well as fire protection properties if required.
When removed from the mould, the walls of the grating have a naturally concave surface, which provides some anti-slip properties. The anti-slip properties of the gratings may be increased by adding a coating of alumina grains. The additional anti-slip coating also improves the service life of TWS gratings.
The relatively low weight of the product makes transport, handling and installation much easier than for metal gratings. The steps can be cut to the required size before delivery or on site using a tool fitted with a diamond disc. The cutting points must be protected with resin or polyurethane lacquer.
